2024 Sing for Scholarships

Registration OPENS August 11th @ 6PM AK Time

(only 20 slots available for auditions)

Who: Registration is open to all area High School students: soloists, or small ensembles of up to four singers. 

Space is limited to the first 20 performers to reserve their spot.

When: September 5th, 2023

Where: Wayland Baptist University Auditorium from 7:00 - 9:30 PM 

Requirements: Auditionees will prepare one musical theater song, no longer than five minutes, and provide a quality digital accompaniment (a link for upload to Dropbox will be provided in the email confirming your audition slot). Evaluations will be based on vocal technique, musical artistry, and audience rapport. Props and costumes are allowed.

Event: Alaska Sound Celebration chorus members will judge and vote to select the top 5 finalists (and 1 alternate). The finalists will be notified via phone no later than September.  The top five contestants will perform for a live audience and panel of judges at our annual Fall Show, Celebrate the Music, on October 5th at the Alaska Center for the Performing Arts.

Cash Prizes: 1st Place is $1000.00. All finalists will receive a cash prize.
