2026 Melodrama Tickets On Sale Now!
Alaska Sound Celebration proudly presents the 35th annual Fur Rondy Melodrama, Pirates of the Aleutians: Saloon Girls Gone Wild, February 27 – March 14 at the 49th State Brewing Company – Heritage Theatre.
This year’s Melodrama sets sail on the high seas as a band of former saloon girls—now fierce female pirates—return to the Aleutians aboard the Raven’s Revenge. With a cryptic treasure map in hand, they enlist a mapmaker and a cartographer to help crack its secrets. But when a conniving villain, his loyal sidekick and a cash-strapped hero sneak aboard in hilariously unconvincing pirate drag, the voyage veers straight into chaos.
Packed with music, mischief, swordfights and treasure-hunting twists, this uproarious romp delivers everything audiences love about the annual Melodrama — big laughs, bold characters and plenty of opportunities to cheer, boo and, of course, throw popcorn!
Don’t miss this evening of maps, treasure and mayhem — reserve your seats today!

A brief Melodrama history
For the past 30+ years, Alaska Sound Celebration members have been the creative force behind the Fur Rondy Melodrama, one of the most successful events of the Festival held in Anchorage every winter. Each year, the Melodrama is played in front of sell-out audiences over three weekend runs: Friday nights, and Saturday and Sunday matinees and evening performances.
Each year, Chorus members are involved in writing, producing, set building and costume making, as well as starring in the Melodrama. One of the most popular and fun elements of the Melodrama is the popcorn throwing. Audience members young and old delight in throwing popcorn at the cast, the chorus and each other! From miners to pirates, zombies to Vikings, we've done it all!
